Every Square Inch: A Pledge to Radically Love and Celebrate Your Body in 2019

My body has been through 3 c-sections, intestinal rupture, and so much more, and yet—it’s still kicking. In the past, I’ve been so critical of my body. As women, we are so critical of our bodies. My body has been through 3 c-sections, intestinal rupture, and so much more, and yet—it’s still kicking. In the past, I’ve been so critical of my body. As women, we are so critical of our bodies. We look around and wish for something we don’t have…a smaller waist, a bigger butt, or toned arms. We each have that one area and while it varies from person to person, the core of our desire is the same—we want to be different, better, something else.

Despite all my body has been through, it hasn’t failed me. Think about all that the body does daily to keep running. Our hearts pump, our blood flows, our lungs breathe, our mind thinks. I want to value my health and celebrate my body. I don’t want to live always chasing celebration, waiting until something goes bad to realize how good it is.

That’s why I’ve made a pledge for myself, for all of us women. It’s not about losing weight or getting fit, it’s about truly appreciating the body we have. My pledge is about moving more, eating clean 80% of the time, meditating, accepting, and more.

In an effort to fan the flame further in the body positivity movement, I’ve created a pledge for myself and for all the women out there who want to love their bodies where they’re at, push themselves to strengthen their bodies, or have the strength to accept any limitations they have.

Every Square Inch

Every square inch of me fits into the bigger purpose of the whole that is me. It’s who I am; it’s the building block of my feminine temple and I choose to honor it.

Dimples, freckles, wrinkles, stretchmarks…

Sleek lines, tiny thighs, or abs of steel….

It’s all welcome here.

The me that is me is the me that I am.

I won’t run or hide or bury my head in the sand.

I refuse to live in shame or call myself names.

I choose to love myself. To take care of my body and to flood it with good nutrients and good health.

I’ll have the right mindset about wealth.

I’ll get outside and breathe fresh air.

I’ll brush my hair.

I’ll pray, meditate, journal, or quiet my spirit.

I’ll pause and take in nature, I’ll get present and hear it.

I’ll allow myself controlled indulgence.

I’ll savour frothy lattes and a sweet chocolate treat.

I’ll eat clean 80% of the time, and girl—I’ll enjoy my wine.

I will honor every square inch of me—my smile, my feet, my arms, and my eyes…

They tell a story; they’ve changed lives.

Every square inch of me is important; it’s necessary to who I am.

Every square inch of me is a part of this life’s plan.

I choose to honor myself. To honor my mind and my heart.

I pledge to honor every square inch, every part.

I pledge to do so every single day.

I’ll get over myself, get out of my own way.

I’ll care for my body, mind, and soul.

Every square inch has a purpose, has a goal.

I will honor my inches, whether they’re little or a lot.

I will honor your inches, and I’ll remind you too, if you’ve forgot.

This year, this moment, this is my vow.

My body gets my best thoughts, my best actions…

My body gets the best of me NOW.

If you took this pledge with me—if it means as much to you as it does to me—I’d love for you to share your story on Instagram by posting a selfie and let me know by using the hashtag #everysquareinch and tagging @hertraveltribeboutique.

Be kind to yourselves, ladies.

More to come…
