“Your life is a story of transition. You are always leaving one chapter behind while moving on to the next.” I ran across that quote as I started to think about how I wanted to transition my summer wardrobe for cooler temps. It got me thinking about all of the transitions that are happening as we move from summer to fall.
In the same way that I’m bringing warmer fabrics and layers into my fall wardrobe, I’m looking at bringing more things into my life that really warm me up inside and help me get in touch with the softer, more at-ease woman that’s been waiting to run the show.
To foster that inner softness and warmth, I’m adding more fall candles, inspirational music, devotionals, and meditations that bring me joy. I’m also doing a lot more journaling about the things that make me feel warm and fuzzy inside versus stressed and frazzled.
For my wardrobe—ohhhh, I can’t wait to dive into how I’m transitioning it! First of all, I’m absolutely bringing in more layers. For me, that looks like pairing my favorite Lucinda Knit Midi Dress with a denim jacket on top and adding some stylish booties.
I’m also using Stich Fix to add in more long-sleeve tops and full-length bottoms to my wardrobe that truly fit my style. This season of transition is really full for me, so I LOVE that Stitch Fix allows me to partner with expert stylists who do the heavy lifting of identifying styles I love and send them right to my front door.
You all know that I love fashion so I had a blast taking their style quiz. I played around with the answers and you can personalize your style whether it’s simple and timeless or a bit more on-trend and dramatic.
These are some of my favorite items I just received. I love the fabric, cuts, look, and feel. Honestly, I feel like a million bucks yet I didn’t spend that nor did I spend the usual time I do browsing shops (which I still love, but we all have to be kind of careful with that right now).
If you’re not familiar with Stich Fix, they’re a personalized styling service that features real expert stylists who get to know your unique preferences — the color you hate, the sleeves you love, the fit you prefer — to understand what you need when it comes to dressing for any occasion or season. Your stylist sees the whole you: she aims to know you and your style far beyond just your measurements so you can feel confident about your style.
I love that about them.
What kind of inner transitions are you going through this season and how are you transitioning your wardrobe for fall?
