In the heart of Shreveport, Louisiana, on a magical February day in 2023, love blossomed and dreams came true as Michaela Guillaume and Roderickus Williams joined hands in a breathtaking union. The couple exchanged vows at the historic Brown Chapel at Centenary, a venue steeped in timeless elegance. With its soaring vaulted ceilings, an 81-foot aisle, and rustic wooden pews, the chapel provided the perfect backdrop for Michaela and Roderickus to declare their love for one another.
Opting for an elegant and romantic aesthetic, the couple created a wedding that was both timeless and enchanting. Grand floral arrangements, candlelit lighting, and whimsical decor transformed the chapel into a fairytale setting, setting the stage for a celebration filled with love and joy.
As Michaela, adorned with a stunning bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchids and patience roses, walked down the aisle escorted by her father, the air was filled with anticipation and emotion. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows before the priest, marking the beginning of their lifelong journey together.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests proceeded to a delightful cocktail hour, where Southern-inspired hors d’oeuvres delighted the palate. From alligator bites with remoulade to smoked gouda macaroni bites, each bite was a celebration of the couple’s Southern roots.
The festivities continued at the 601 Spring Event Center, where modern luxury met vintage charm. The sweetheart table stole the show, featuring two throne chairs, an acrylic table, and a stunning floral runner with orchids gracefully cascading over the edges. The reception exuded an atmosphere of romance and celebration, creating lasting memories for all in attendance.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous served buffet, highlighting the culinary delights of the region. The 7-tier buttercream cake, a true masterpiece, became a centerpiece for the evening. As the night progressed, the custom-wrapped dance floor became the stage for lively celebrations, with Michaela and Roderickus leading the way in their first dance as a married couple.
